BRAND HISTORY

In 1970, 23-year-old Linda Farrow (Linda Farrow), the daughter of an optical designer and designer, created her own brand of glasses in order to turn this rather conservative subject in those times into a fashionable and luxurious accessory. She opened a small workshop and began using unusual materials for Linda Farrow glasses - precious metals, stones, leather of reptiles in her own original decor, generously decorating models with rhinestones, gilded studs and other unusual and memorable details. In addition, Linda experimented a lot with the form, trying to give each model originality and expressiveness. Linda Farrow was one of the first to create collections of sunglasses by analogy with collections of clothes and began to represent them on the podium. Linda Farrow, of course, managed to raise points to an unprecedented height and give each model from the Linda Farrow collection the status of an independent and indispensable fashion accessory.

Despite the great success, in 1980, Linda Farrow decided to close the project and devote her time to the family. The unexpected and triumphant return of the brand was due to Linda’s son Simon Jablon and his girlfriend Tracy Sedino, who discovered sunglasses-filled boxes in the family attic in the attic of the family house created by Linda Farrow for Balenciaga, Emilio Pucci and Yves Saint Laurent in 70-80s of the last century. In 2003, the brand was restarted with the Linda Farrow Vintage collection. All the glasses found were sold during the year as rare samples of optical design. A year later, it became clear to Simon and Tracy that the time had come to reopen the production of glasses under the name Linda Farrow, as both buyers and stores wanted to see new models of this brand. Then the young people distributed responsibilities among themselves - Simon Yablon headed the company as a creative director, and Tracy Sedino became the art director of the revived brand and they began to work on their first collection of sunglasses Linda Farrow.

INNOVATION AND COLLABORATION

The main principles of Linda Farrow's work are innovation and cooperation. Collections of frames and sunglasses created under your own name have become more diverse and interesting thanks to the work with guest designers. The first successful collaborations included the designers and founders of the Eley Kishimoto fashion house - Mark Eley and Wakako Kishimoto, known for their innovative techniques and who believe that design is not limited to the creation of fashionable clothes. Linda Farrow cooperates only with talented and extraordinary personalities to grow and mutually enrich each other, creating unique masterpieces of optical fashion. The inimitable style of Linda Farrow was awarded in 2005 by awarding the title of the most stylish UK brand - “Cool Brands 2005”.

Thanks to his special approach to the production of glasses, as well as Tracy’s connections in the fashion industry, young entrepreneurs managed during their work with the brand to attract and inspire many bright designers of modern fashion with the creation of optical collections: Alexander Wang, Jeremy Scott , Dries van Noten, Yohji Yamamoto, Matthew Williamson, Raf Simmons, Phillip Lim, Khaleda Rajab, and many others. And this list is constantly changing and growing.

Today, like almost 50 years ago, Linda Farrow glasses are an innovative approach to design, special attention to detail, impeccable quality of hand-made production and the very best materials, making them one of the most sought-after and desired fashion accessories. Among the star fans of the brand are such bright personalities as Yoko Ono, who appreciated the style of Linda Farrow back in the distant 70s, Lady Gaga, who took part in the creation of one of the collections, Madonna, Dita Von Teese, Natalie Portman, Kate Moss and many others.

Open creativity and constant willingness to experiment, combined with consistently high quality standards have made the Linda Farrow brand the recognized leader in the luxury eyewear segment. Frequent replenishment of collections maintains a high interest in the brand, and new models always admire with unusual ideas and impeccable British style - elegant and extravagant.
